About our Club
Chartered on November 19, 1962 the Kiwanis Club of Granville provides services and resources to many area charities and groups.
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanians attend club meetings and activities for meaningful service, fellowship, information and inspiration. We impact our community directly through voluntary community service, with a special emphasis on serving children of the world. Kiwanis inspires and trains youth to lead and serve through its Service Leadership Programs for elementary through college levels (K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Circle K, Key Leader Training, Terrific Kids, Bring Up Grades (BUG)). Aktion Club is Kiwanis' service leadership organization for people associated with disabilities.
Granville Kiwanis meets each Monday night at 6:15PM for dinner at the historic Granville Inn in downtown Granville, Ohio. Our meetings are open to the public and guests are always welcome.
This year we are supporting the 2017-18 Ohio Kiwanis Governor Dan Litzinger's First Family's focus service project "Feeding Ohio's Children" with new service projects. We are involving our service leadership groups - KKids at Granville elementary school. Builder's Club at Granville middle school, Key Club at the Granville and Watkins Memorial High Schools and the Aktion Club of Licking County, a new service club for adults with developmental disabilities. We are continuing projects including supporting young children age 0-5 years old, promoting literacy, and providing Amtrykes or three-wheeled pedal and/or hand-crank cycles, giving independence and mobility, to many youth and Veterans in Ohio with disabilities. Click here for more information about Gov. Dan and Barb Litzinger's First Family's Project "Feeding Ohio's Children"
With our 2017-18 Kiwanis International President Jim Rochford we are inviting more people to get involved with Kiwanis and helping children by opening new clubs and increasing our current membership. If you are interested in helping your community, contact the Granville Kiwanis or visit us at any event or meeting and see what we are all about. Thanks to Immediate Past KI President Jane Erickson and the 2015-16 Kiwanis International President Sue Petrisin, we donated $55k towards a 5-year promise to Eliminate Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus to raise $110M for vaccinations and eliminate tetanus worldwide. (By the way, Ms. Petrisin was the first female President of Kiwanis, and the first female President of any International Service Organization!)
We are proud to have hosted the 1995-1996 and 2008-09, 2014-15 and 2015-16 Division 10-E Lieutenant Governors Walt Chaney, Leonard Hubert, Jerry Miller and Jennifer Lewis. Jennifer currently serves as the 2017-18 Ohio District Chair for K-Kids.
